Kids Said Monday

I'm deeming it Kids Said Monday.  Boom.  And it's so.  It's nice to have your own blog where you can deem things into being. 

For the past couple of weekends JR has been avoiding his naps, like the plague.  Saturday was no exception.  He didn't take a nap and instead trashed his room.  Sunday, we put him down and I checked on him a while later to make sure I didn't hear little hands playing and little mouths talking.  Indeed, I heard no noise and proceeded to take myself a much needed nap.

Upon awaking and going to get my little monkey from his room, I heard noise.  Uh-oh.  Well, surely he's just gotten up recently and it's no big deal, right?  Wrong.  He didn't just trash his room, he demolished it and did not take a nap.  He also tore up a book, which I promptly asked him about. 

Me: JR, did you tear that book up?
JR: (pause) No.
Me: Well, JR, if you didn't tear it up who did?  You were the only one in the room.
JR: (long, long pause)  Dinosaur, roar. 

Readers (all two of you), I held it together, and explained that we don't tear books and that tearing another book would result in punishment.  However, my insides were laughing hysterically.  I hope he didn't look at my eyes too closely or he'd have known that mommy was amused, terribly amused.  What a little stinker!
